Perfumers Alcohol

The original Perfumers Alcohol created by Mistral for the UK market in 2007 and widely used ever since!  Perfumers Alcohol is a high-grade alcohol solvent for the perfect base for making your own perfume. High-proof perfume grade alcohol creates a concentrated aroma that lasts. Get creative and make your own special scent.

The 3 main ingredients of Perfumers Alcohol are:

1. Ethanol (denatured) - Ethyl Alcohol is the main carrier for the fragrance oils. It evaporates quickly as it is warmed by skin temperature, releasing the fragrance evenly over the surface.
   At Mistral we exclusively use high-quality cosmetic grade ethanol which is formulated to the UK Governments standard for use in perfumes.  This is commonly known as TSDA-1 or DEB100.  Our alcohol is sourced from UK suppliers and originally derives from sugar cane or sugar beet.
   
   
2. Propylene Glycol - A co-solvent which helps to solubilise the fragrance oils in the alcohol. MPG helps to control the evaporation of the alcohol so that it does not flash off too quickly giving a longer lasting final scent.
   
   
3. Isopropyl Myristate - IPM is a colourless, odourless ester.  It acts as a moisturiser and an emollient, giving a smooth silky skin feel to perfumes without being overly greasy.
