Dipropylene glycol methyl ether (DPM for short) is used in a range of cosmetic and fragrance products. As a solvent DPM has an intermediate evaporation rate and a higher flash point, when compared with PM, making it easier to handle, store and ship. 

DPM is often used as a fragrance carrier in reed diffusers and room spray. Benefits of this solvent in fragrance include its low odour and its compatibility with fragrance oils DPM can enhance fragrances and even extend their longevity.
