PRIMEGUARD PEHG is compatible with most ingredients commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products.
Because its direct solubility in water is limited, it may be helpful to pre-dissolve the preservative in a suitable glycol or incorporate it into the appropriate phase of the formulation. In aqueous systems, heating to approximately 40°C may assist dissolution.
For best results, add the product with thorough mixing to ensure even distribution throughout the formulation.

Important Formulation Considerations
The required concentration will depend on factors including:
- Product format and water activity
- Formulation pH
- Packaging type
- Manufacturing conditions
- Expected consumer use
- The presence of ingredients that may support or interfere with preservation
- The intended market and applicable regulations
The recommended use level is a starting point and does not guarantee adequate preservation in every formulation. The final dosage and preservation system should always be confirmed through microbial challenge testing of the finished product.
All finished cosmetic products should undergo appropriate stability, compatibility, safety and regulatory assessment before being placed on the market.
