They are attached by using small dollops of soap that was melted and then allowed to set slightly. The best way to apply your "soap glue" is with a craft or popsicle stick. As an added touch, sprinkle a tiny bit of fine glitter on each little cake after spraying lightly with alcohol. This allows the glitter to adhere to the moist surface. You can also make little polka dots with a plastic pipette. You must work quickly as the soap solidifies rapidly. Another method is to dip the end of a thin paintbrush handle into melted soap and drop one dot at a time onto your little petit fours.
