Greetings Fragrance Crafters,

The busy season is approaching. Are you ready? It's time to gear up for Halloween and the Fall season. Successful planning for craft shows, gift giving, parties etc. will result in less stress and a real enjoyment of your fragrance crafting.

College students love to get packages from home and fun soaps, sugar scrubs, lip
balms and lotion bars are much appreciated. Spray those pillows with Lavender
Linen Mist to ease stress and encourage restful sleep. Soap with matching Bath Gel and Lotion make a thoughtful gift.

Young children love small soaps with bugs, animals or fish inside. They make great party favors too!

Scallop shells are a symbol of Baptism and our scallop shell mold makes lovely  soaps as a remembrance of this special day.

A WORD ABOUT SCRUBS AND EXFOLIATING

Men's skin often is less wrinkled than women's because they exfoliate daily when
shaving. Removing dead skin boosts circulation and allows new skin to form which
absorbs moisture much easier and therefore the skin's appearance is softer and
smoother.

If you have oily to normal skin you should exfoliate 4-5 times a week. Dry skin
only requires twice weekly exfoliation. However, if you reside in a warm climate
perspiration acts like glue to dead skin and frequent scrubs are necessary to
maintain a fresh, dewy complexion.

Check out our "Soap Foam" bottles, you can also make great shaving foam too. Bay Rum, Key Lime or Sandalwood are good choices. Put 1" of anti-bacterial soap base, a drop or two of colorant, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. essential or fragrance oil. Fill with water and stir to completely combine. Screw on the top, press the button and a puff of foam appears in your hand.
My grandchildren love the Lemon Meringue to clean sticky fingers in the car. No water necessary!

NEW FALL RECIPES

ORANGEFLOWER WATER TONER

6 oz. Orangeflower Water
2 oz. Witch Hazel

After removing make-up, soak a cotton square with toner and gently wipe entire face and next. Then apply a moisturizer. The toner will remove the last bit of make-up so you have a clean palette for your moisturizer.

FACE PAINT FOR HALLOWEEN

1 Tbsp. Cold Cream
2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1 Tbsp. Water
Food Coloring

Combine and paint away. Removes easily with warm water.

CINNAMON SOAP (mildly exfoliating)

1 lb. opaque soap base
1 Tbsp. Buttermilk Powder or Whole Milk Powder
2 Tbsp. Cinnamon, powdered
1 tsp. Cinnamon fragrance oil
2 tsp. French Vanilla fragrance
oil

Melt soap base in microwave, 2 1/2 min., then in 30 second increments until melted. Remove 1/4 cup after cooling a few minutes. Add Milk Powder and stir to smooth and combine. Add to melted soap base. Add Cinnamon Powder and fragrance oils. Stir to combine. Fill 4 mold cavities, spray with alcohol to remove bubbles and allow to set. This soap is for adults not children. Not for sensitive skin. The delicious smell and mild exfoliating qualities make this a favorite of mine.

PUMPKIN PIE TART SOAPS

For each tart:

4 oz. opaque soap base
1 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 tsp. Plymouth Pumpkin Pie fragrance oil
1 whipped Cream Soap Swirl
2 drops orange colorant and 1 drop Caramel colorant

Melt soap, as above. Add Pumpkin Pie Spice, fragrance oil and 2 drops orange
colorant and 1 caramel colorant. Spray tin (I use the round aluminum tart pans from the supermarket.) lightly with vegetable oil and fill with melted soap. Spray top with alcohol to remove bubbles. When set and hard, melt a tsp. of soap base and paint on the bottom of the whipped cream swirl to attach to the center of the tart.
