In 1995 I wrote my first book, "Scentsations" a handbook for fragrance crafting. It occurred to me that there are many books out there on soap making, herbal gifts and such but no "one stop shop" ingredient source to go with them. The prices at "Health Food" stores are quite exorbitant and therefore I felt we could provide both the "how to" information as well as the necessary base products. Hence, My Sweet Victoria was born. My family has been in the extract business for 109 years and were able to steer me to the most reliable and high quality perfume and essential oil suppliers. I wanted to be able to offer customers the very best undiluted oils and quality base ingredients. In 1997, I wrote a second book for Storey Communications, "Perfumes, Splashes & Colognes" this resulted in an appearance on QVC and also "Home Matters" with Susan Powell seen on the Discovery channel. I also speak to Historical Societies, Quester groups, Libraries, Flower clubs and others who are interested in fragrance crafting and the history of the art. Our sense of smell is the strongest of our senses and plays a very important role in our lives. Everyone's brain has a "smellprint", much like a fingerprint. When we encounter a scent from the past it brings forth powerful memories. Surrounding ourselves with delicious scents is an important part of daily living, often creating memories for those we love.
